No, that’s not the official name of Girona, just my name for it. Even cobblestone streets which should have been flat had strange levels to them. If you aren’t going up, you’re going down, in Girona. Mostly I hung onto Greg as I looked from side to side to capture all the wonderful medieval photographs.
Near the end of our visit we met some guys who had been on the train with us in the morning. They had tried to combine the Salvador Dali Museum in Port Lligat with Girona into one day. As we were heading down a hill they were just coming up. “What should we see?” they asked. What could we say? There had been so much. And it all began with “Go up the stairs…”
