I hope you enjoy my Antarctica travel blog (even if you aren’t diabetic!) I offer tips for diabetic travel which can be valuable for people without diabetes as well. Safe and healthy travel is great for all of us!
In December 2007 at the age of 45, I treated my parents to an Antarctic expedition cruise for their 50th wedding anniversary. We flew from Boston to Ushuaia, Argentina, spent a few days sightseeing there, then boarded the “Polar Star” for a 10 day cruise to the Antarctica Peninsula. It was a trip of a lifetime!
I want to make it two trips of a lifetime! Sadly, the “Polar Star” is no longer in service, and each year I scour the agency websites looking for the best ship with the best itinerary to take my husband Greg to see this wonderful place. Each year, we say, “Oh, it costs too much now…”
Antarctica would be his final continent so we have to make it some day together.
