I hope you enjoy my Austria travel blog (even if you aren’t diabetic!) I offer tips for diabetic travel which can be valuable for people without diabetes as well. Safe and healthful travel is great for all of us!
We visited Vienna, Austria in early October 2018. On a month-long trip from Eastern Europe to Western Europe we stopped in Vienna for an amazing three days. We arrived on the boat from Bratislava, Slovenia, and left on the train to Prague, Czech Republic.
Why visit Vienna? My mother, when she was in the Army Library Service in the late ’50s, spent many happy weekends visiting Vienna and I grew up with the idea that Vienna was the center of culture for Europe. Vienna is also very convenient as a stop on the rail from Hungary towards the Czech Republic.
Once in Vienna, why didn’t we rent a car and head off to the mountains? For this 33-day trip from Eastern Europe back to Germany, through Austria, I simply scheduled too many countries to give all of the countries the full attention they deserve.
We plan to return some day, and see the countryside.
As you may know by now, Greg is a Diet Dr. Pepper addict.
