Our visit to Germany was quick – we drove from Cesky Krumlov, in the South Bohemia section of the Czech Republic to Munich via Passau, and checked out the Munich historic downtown area. Then we took a day trip to Zugspitze which is a ski area very near the Austrian
Cesky Krumlov is a small town in the South Bohemia area of the Czech Republic. It is a UNESCO World Heritage Site due to its preservation of 14th to 17th century buildings. Most people visit it as a day trip out of Prague, however we stayed there for two nights,
Prague was our favorite city in our 33-day trip from Romania to Germany. The atmosphere in the town square, with its characters, living statues, BBQ, trdlenik and astronomical clock, was addictive.
Prague Castle was so interesting that it merits a video of its own! From St. Vitus Cathedral to St. George’s Basilica and the Golden Lane to a horrifying array of implements of war and torture, our cameras just kept on clicking.
In Prague we took a half-day “Communism and Nuclear Bunker” tour. It was just a glimpse of the 40 years of Communism rule. Related Links Here’s the link to the Prague Communism Tour website. We highly recommend the tour.
We visited Vienna for three amazing days in early October 2018. What did we choose as our top sights to see? Arrival in Vienna from Bratislava on the boat Twin City Liner. St. Charles Church Schonbrunn Palace and the Imperial Carriage Museum, and the tram around the grounds Belvedere Palace
We visited Bratislava for just 24 hours in early October 2018. We arrived around noon by train from Budapest, and left around 4pm by Twin City Liner to Vienna. The Hotel Carlton (Radisson Blu) had the softest bed we found in our thirty-three days in Eastern and Central Europe! Enjoy!

I want to give you the inspiration and travel tips to enable you also to look beyond your own personal challenges, to not hide behind those words “I could never” and to see the world. |
