Itinerary
We visited Ireland in June 2022 for 18 days. You can follow our trip on the map below, starting in Dublin and continuing counter clockwise.
We flew into Dublin, then headed north in our rental car to Northern Ireland, across Antrim, to Donegal.
Then we headed south via Counties Leithrim, Sligo, Mayo and Galway. We hopped a plane to the Arran Islands – Innishmore – for a day trip. Then we headed south through Clare to Kerry, and Cork.
At the town of Cobh we headed north to Waterford, through Wexford, to Wicklow, and finally arrived once more in Dublin.
We rented a car, and stayed at all manner of B&B’s, guest houses and a few really nice hotels.
With all that planning it is not possible to control the skies, and we had gray skies for a good portion of the trip, so much so that when blue skies arrived it became a moment or day of great celebration!
Check out our coverage of Dublin’s Gay Pride Parade – an unexpected, colorful and happy conclusion to our trip.
