Dr Pepper is just a stroll away, in Budapest, Hungary

Vaci Street in Budapest is the place to stroll. It’s a wide pedestrian walkway anchored on one end by the Hard Rock Cafe, ending on the main road Kossuth Lajos. Lined by cafes, souvenir shops and all manner of stores, it’s a nice place to find yourself as the evening falls.

Indeed, if you are looking for Dr. Pepper, as Greg always is, Vaci Street is the place to be. Greg found his Hungarian Dr Pepper at a convenience named “Delicates”, just a block down from the Hard Rock Cafe.

If my description of the location is not enough, I’ve even given you a map:

I’m sure there are many other locations to buy Dr Pepper in Budapest, but we didn’t have a car, and we did have a full schedule of sightseeing planned during our 3 1/2 days there. Click here for our full itinerary. With wandering all over the suburbs looking for full groceries stores not feasible, Greg took the opportunity to duck into every convenience store we passed.

By this time in our thirty-three day trip throughout Eastern and Central Europe Greg was really missing the suitcase full of Diet Dr. Pepper which he had brought to Romania, our first country. Although Greg really likes Dr. Pepper, he yearns for Diet Dr. Pepper. He finds it a little less sweet-tasting and certainly better for his calorie-counting. What he learned to do in Sofia and Budapest was to mix together Pepsi Max and the hi-test Dr. Pepper he was able to buy. He reduced his caloric intake, yet enjoyed that lovely taste of Dr. Pepper.

Here’s a link to Greg’s other Dr. Pepper finds, throughout the world!
