As you may know by now, Greg is a Diet Dr. Pepper addict. Throughout our thirty-three day trip from Romania, Bulgaria, Hungary, Slovakia, Austria, the Czech Republic to Germany, Greg searched for Diet Dr. Pepper.
He never did find Diet Dr. Pepper, however was successful in finding hi-test Dr. Pepper on several occasions. You can check out the successes here.
Once we left Hungary, he was unsuccessful in Bratislava, Slovakia, and was despondent in Vienna.
On our final morning in Vienna we took a taxi from our guest house to the Wein Hauptbahnhof (Central Train Station). Upon entry into the station we immediately saw the Strock’s deli and headed in to make our breakfast and lunch purchases. I stood in line, with my pan au chocolate, and was not immediately aware that Greg was not behind me.
What happened to Greg? He was scrounging in the candy section because he saw this:
So sadly I have to report that they were all out.
This meant that from this moment on, in every convenience store in Prague, Cesky Krumlov, Munich and Nuremburg Greg not only searched in vain for Dr. Pepper, he searched the candy section for Wrigley’s Orbit Dr. Pepper flavored gum.
