Córdoba is several hours’ drive directly north from Gibraltar. We originally planned to see Andalucia in a clockwise direction beginning in Córdoba and heading south to Granada, to Gibraltar, ending in Seville. But then I learned about Seville’s world famous Corpus Christi celebration and I redesigned the wheel as an X starting in Seville and ending in Córdoba.
What this meant was that we would have a slightly shorter visit in Seville and longer stay in Córdoba. I worried – would there be enough to see and do in Córdoba? Oh, not to worry! In spite of the 100 degree Fahrenheit temperatures we were on the go!
Our ‘first-of-the-day’ reservation at La Mezquita, the cathedral of Córdoba, gave us a seemingly personal view of this awe-inspiring architectural sight. Another great decision.
