Prior to our trip, I did a lot of investigation trying to find laundries in Budapest. Specifically I was trying to locate a laundry close to Deák Ferenc tér. Here are the results of my work:
O Utca 24
Our chosen laundry, located in an unmarked building next to a hostel, on the main floor. That is to say, the “main floor” is up a number of steps. Go up the stairs then turn left and go to the end. The glass doors there may be closed/locked. If so, back up and on your left you’ll see the entrance to the reception for the hostel. They will take the clothes there. You pay per kilo. We paid about $20 for 8 days worth of clothes. Unfortunately I don’t know how much our clothes actually weighed. Sorry about that.
Szofia utca 8
(Vajnoczki Tisztitoszalon Vegytisztitas) one blogger said they also charge by the kilo.
Dohany utca 22
Bazaar Laundry – Self service, according to their website.
Bessenyei utca 16

Varoshaz utca 5
At the corner of Varoshaz utca and Varmegye utca. Here’s a picture of it. It looks like it is number 5. Now that I’ve found it on the map, I can see it’s about five minutes closer to our hotel (Regency Suites) than the one we chose. Oh, well.
I hope this helps other travelers.
