Bulgaria Travel Blog – Itinerary, Reviews & Diabetic Travel Tips

I hope you enjoy my Bulgaria Travel Blog as I describe our four day visit to Bulgaria in late September 2018. Compass Travels of Romania offered an “add-on” visit to Bulgaria and we couldn’t resist. It was the second country on our thirty-three day wander around seven eastern to central European countries.

Reviews

It is so sad to me that I don’t know the name of the agency that managed the Bulgaria extension. The entire Romania-Bulgaria trip was organized by Compass Travel of Romania, and the Bulgarian woman who managed the Bulgarian extension was so attentive (through our guide) to our schedule and needs that I would have like to have known her and her agency, to give her a little good press. But that was not to be.

We do however know our guide, Valeri Grigorov and can recommend him very highly. Contact me and I can provide his email address.

See my article “A brief but fascinating 4-day itinerary for Bulgaria” for more kudos to both the itinerary-writers and our guide.

Diabetic Travel Tips

The water was safe to drink; everything was safe health-wise. We visited in late September and the weather was warm. But I can imagine that in the summer heat protecting your insulin would be a full-time job in Bulgaria.
